West Park Shopping Plaza demolition underway in Mansfield, OH, finish set for May 2027

Demolition has started at West Park Shopping Plaza, 1157 Park Ave. West in Mansfield, Ohio. R&D Excavating of Crestline holds the nearly $887,000 contract, funded by a $1 million Ohio Department of Development grant. Crews found more asbestos-containing material than expected, prompting a $59,161.92 change order for Erie Environmental's removal work. Work is expected to finish by end of May 2027, with no redevelopment plan finalized.
