Cambridge Springs Borough Council has unanimously awarded XL Excavating a contract to demolish the former Iron Horse Saloon at 195 S. Main St. Borough Manager Sandy Pude said the work must be completed by Dec. 31. The borough acquired the building through eminent domain after a three-year dispute with owner James Byers, who ignored a court order to tear it down himself. The borough has also received a $20,000 Blight Revitalization Grant toward the project.
Crews began demolishing the 127-year-old Keystone Fire Company building on North Fourth Street in Columbia Borough, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, on Monday, after engineers determined storm damage from last week made the structure too unstable to save.
