Scarsdale recycling center incinerator building demolished, chimney to stay for antennas

The incinerator building at Scarsdale's Recycling Center is being demolished, with work documented October 20. The chimney will stay in place to support cell phone antennas. Deputy Village Manager Emily Giovanni says the 1930s structure, unused for years, had broken windows, cracked concrete and deteriorated steel. Superintendent Jeff Coleman's inspection found it beyond salvageable.
