Former Sugar Mill venue razed in New Orleans for $600 million, 1,000-room Omni hotel
Crews are clearing the former Sugar Mill event venue in New Orleans, located opposite the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. The teardown, photographed on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026, clears the site for a future Omni hotel project valued at roughly $600 million. The planned development would include approximately 1,000 guest rooms once construction begins.
