Coronado Hotel razed in Phoenix, nearly century-old motel cleared for apartments
Crews razed the Coronado Hotel in downtown Phoenix on Oct. 19, using two excavators to clear the nearly century-old building two blocks south of Roosevelt Row. Developer True North Studio, which plans new apartments on the site, filed a demolition application in late February, with the building coming down about eight months later. The original Matt's Big Breakfast location on the same site was also torn down.
