Century-old Lambda Chi Alpha house razed in Murray, KY, new hall planned

Gingles Excavating demolished the century-old Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity house on Main Street in Murray, Kentucky, across from Murray State University's campus. The Lambda Chi Alpha Housing Corporation plans a new one-story assembly hall of just under 3,000 square feet on the site, designed as a heated, air-conditioned meeting space rather than housing. Groundbreaking could begin as soon as October, pending planning steps. Housing units built behind the old house in 2013 and 2019 already accommodate 16 fraternity members.
