Sun Valley Park pool demolition begins in Louisville, new facility set for 2027

Demolition of the old pool at Sun Valley Park in southwestern Louisville, Kentucky has begun, Mayor Craig Greenberg announced. The project, pushed by Councilwoman Crystal Bast, will replace the facility with a new pool and pool house featuring a front entrance, updated changing rooms and restrooms. Construction follows the 2026 pool season, with opening planned for 2027. City budget documents cite conflicting costs of $4.5 million and $1.5 million.
