Euclid School in St. Louis partly collapses before $1.3M demolition starts

The Euclid School in St. Louis has begun partially collapsing before its planned demolition, which the school board approved June 9 with a $1.3 million contract to CERES. SLPS did not issue a notice to proceed until August 19 and did not apply for a building permit until September 11, over three months after board approval. The Building Division has since fast-tracked the permit, allowing demolition once utilities are disconnected, amid concerns about mold, lead and asbestos exposure from the crumbling structure.
