DeGaulle Manor's 12 buildings to fall in Algiers, New Orleans, June 2026 to May 2027

The city of New Orleans has secured about $3 million from its short-term rental fund to demolish DeGaulle Manor in Algiers, a 12-building complex that sat unfunded for years. Buildings will come down sequentially from June 2026 through May 2027, with final site clearing and fence repair completing the project by June 1, 2027. The city says it will coordinate with public safety agencies and environmental contractors throughout the phased teardown.
