Defiance land bank advances demolition at 111-113 E. Second St., library homes

Defiance County’s land bank board heard updates on demolition of vacant commercial buildings at 111-113 E. Second St., under contract to Skiver Excavating, LLC of Defiance, though no start date was given. The same contractor will remove two Defiance Public Library homes for an annex project. A new competitive state demolition fund requiring a 25% match will target business-related projects, while Tetra Tech continues brownfield testing at several Defiance sites, including an asbestos survey scheduled the week of Sept. 21.
