Hills Elementary demolition hearing set Oct. 22, bids due Oct. 29 in Iowa City

The Iowa City school board holds a public hearing Oct. 22 on plans and specifications for demolishing Hills Elementary School at 301 Main St. in Hills, which closed after the 2023-24 school year. The Iowa City Community School District and the city of Hills jointly decided the building no longer meets community needs. Bids on the demolition project are due Oct. 29 at 2 p.m. at the district's Facilities Management Conference Center in Iowa City.
