Duffield St. demolition in Brooklyn halted after equipment sinks into ground

Heavy equipment sank into the ground last week at a demolition site at 245 Duffield St. in Downtown Brooklyn, prompting an FDNY response and a stop-work order. Nearby residents say they had already filed complaints with the Department of Buildings, the Public Advocate's Office and local officials over noise, dust and debris. Before work can resume, the DOB says contractors must correct cited violations and submit a report on safety measures going forward.
