Northwest Missouri State to remove 140-foot boiler stack in Maryville Sept. 10

A crew is set to remove the 140-foot boiler stack at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri, beginning Thursday, Sept. 10. The stack was part of the John C. Redden Jr. Power Plant, and its removal is part of the university's infrastructure modernization project. In place of the centralized power plant, the university has installed eight smaller heating plants in existing campus buildings, each providing redundant heating capacity for its area and able to connect with neighboring plants to share heat.
