Route 50 bridge razed in Lee's Summit, MO, ahead of $25 million interchange upgrade

MoDOT crews used excavators and bulldozers to bring down the U.S. Route 50 bridge in Lee's Summit, Missouri, on Sept. 15, clearing the way for a $25 million replacement and interchange upgrade at the Route 291 North Junction. The project, funded through a statewide cost-sharing program and city TIF funds, also includes relocating Blue Parkway's north outer road and improving 7th Terrace. MoDOT expects the work, along with related lane reconfigurations, to be finished by the end of 2026.
