St. Charles Road bridge over I-70 near Columbia, MO to be demolished this weekend

MoDOT will demolish the St. Charles Road bridge over I-70 near Columbia, Missouri, from 7 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Monday as part of the Improve I-70 Project. Crews will narrow the interstate to one lane in each direction, rerouting drivers via exit and entrance ramps, with project director Jeff Gander estimating delays up to an hour. Construction of the wider, higher-clearance replacement overpass is expected to continue through the end of September, with St. Charles Road access to I-70 maintained but no crossing allowed during that period.
