UDC's Building 41 demolition in Washington to start September, finish by February

Demolition of UDC’s Building 41 in Washington, D.C. is now targeted to start in early September and finish by early February, after structural deficiencies found in the below-grade parking garage delayed the DC Archives project for more than a year. The Department of General Services and UDC worked under a memorandum of understanding to repair the garage, with that work expected to wrap by late August. DGS holds demolition permits and is preparing to apply for the full building permit; project manager Brad King said the precast panel construction allows panels to be removed rather than knocked down.
