Dore sues Liberty Mutual over unpaid bond on Detroit school demolition

Dore & Associates, hired by MIG/Rockford JV for a $582,300 demolition subcontract at a Detroit Public Schools site on Grove Street, says it was terminated in June 2025 after completing roughly 95% of the work, with no payment on a $449,318.62 pay application. The Michigan contractor has now sued Liberty Mutual in federal court in Detroit, alleging the insurer refused to honor the project's payment bond despite a demand. A separate arbitration over the underlying subcontract dispute is already pending; no court ruling has been issued.
