COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS – Part of Kyle Field was imploded early Sunday morning as part of the stadium’s redevelopment.

A ceremony happened at 7:30 a.m. followed by the implosion on the west side of the field at 8 a.m.

The university system said construction on the field is slated to finish in time for the 2015 season. The new west side of the stadium will include suites and premium areas for fans along with state-of-the-art facilities for television broadcast media.

Final seating capacity for the stadium will be 102,512.

Lindamood Demolition is the demolition contractor and Controlled Demolition, Inc is the implosion contractor.
